Strengthening Team Alignment
Last month, we explored the importance of vision—how it sets the direction for your firm and creates the opportunity to build alignment. This month, we’re addressing what comes next.
A vision alone isn’t enough—it’s about bringing people along, whether you’re designing a project or evolving your practice.
Without alignment, even the clearest ideas can feel like an uphill battle. When teams don’t see themselves reflected in the vision, engagement falters, momentum stalls, and meaningful transformation becomes harder to achieve.
Strengthening Team Alignment
Aligning your team requires clear communication and space for people to contribute. When teams feel heard and engaged in the process—when they understand the “why” behind the work and how their role connects to the bigger picture—momentum builds. Engagement deepens. Progress accelerates.
Alignment isn’t a one-time event—it’s built and rebuilt daily through big and small conversations.
This month, take 10 minutes to reflect on this question:
What’s one conversation I need to have with my team to ensure we are aligned?
Write it down. Then, ask your team the very same question. See how answers align—or where they don’t. That’s where the real work begins.
Looking Ahead
Alignment is what turns vision into action—but sustaining that alignment requires intention, structure, and adaptability. In our next update, we’ll explore how to manage organizational shifts—what it truly requires to lead firms through industry change and adopt new ideas.
Our Team is Growing
With every firm we support, we’re working to leave a lasting impact on the AEC industry by helping our clients model new ways forward. To support that vision, we’ve expanded our team in 2025—bringing in new expertise and behind-the-scenes support to strengthen our client work.
We’re looking for teams ready to lead through growth, transition, or change. It might begin with a workshop or retreat—and grow into something more. Or, it could be a one-time engagement. If you’re interested in topics on change, let’s connect about building something meaningful together.
From the Field
Following a snow delay in February, Je’Nen delivered a keynote at the AIA Triangle Women in Architecture Annual Breakfast in March. She shared stories of women leading change across the AEC industry—particularly during moments of transition, uncertainty, and transformation.
These stories offer powerful lessons for all leaders: how to navigate complexity with empathy, lead with clarity, and bring people along behind a shared vision and purpose.
